Sony is Preparing Its First 200MP Camera Sensor!

Samsung, the first company to launch a 200MP camera sensor for mobile devices, may soon find its dominance in the ultra-high-resolution market challenged. Initially used in the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and later incorporated into Samsung’s own Galaxy S23 Ultra, Sony is preparing to offer its own response to this resolution.

After years of focusing on 50MP sensors, Sony is now preparing to introduce its first 200MP camera sensor, which will revolutionize the mobile space. Reliable leakster FeniBook has revealed the first details of Sony’s first 200MP camera sensor for mobile devices. The sensor will reportedly be called the LYT-910.

LYT-910 Specifications:

This new sensor will be able to deliver 2x and 4x lossless zoom shots with in-sensor cropping. It also promises superior HDR performance with over 100dB of dynamic range. On the video side, it is expected to offer 4K 120fps and 8K 30fps video recording with HDR support.

The Sony LYT-910’s 1/1.11-inch size puts it in direct competition with Samsung’s current largest 200MP sensor, the ISOCELL HP1 (1/1.22-inch), and its best 200MP sensor, the ISOCELL HP2 (1/1.4-inch).

The Sony LYT-910 is expected to be used in flagship models like the OPPO Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra next year. Samsung, however, isn’t expected to use this chip in its own phones, as it produces its own 200MP sensors. Indeed, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to continue using its existing ISOCELL HP2 (200MP) sensor.
